Our Training Philosophy
Having trained and raced with the best cyclists in the world, Alex is now partnering up with his old teammate Mike Woods and the rest of the team at Mile2Marathon to provide world-class personal coaching for cyclists.
Alex and Mile2Marathon believe that the greatest results come from consistent and effective training. Our philosophy to achieve this is a strong relationship with your coach, training based on science and a fun and motivating environment. We strive to put all these factors into place to give you the best training environment to succeed. We believe these principles stay true no matter your level, from beginners to elite. Alex focuses on providing a motivating and approachble style of coaching, with training tailored specifically to you and constant communication.
Alex Cataford
Alex is a recently retired WorldTour cyclist. Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Alex rose through the cycling ranks where he spent 8 years racing professionally, while also studying physics at Queens University. He has raced the Giro D’Italia and the World Championships among many other races at the highest level of the sport. During his time racing, he kept up to date with all the latest training methods and philosophies and learnt how to apply them at all levels. He bases his coaching on science, communication and goal setting.
Founded by Olympians Dylan Wykes & Michael Woods, Mile2Marathon aims to provide unparalleled coaching services and training communities to runners and endurance athletes of all abilities. We strive to create an environment where anybody can challenge themselves, explore their limits, and become a happier, healthier, and faster person.
